
Emily 蘇妮 [Su Ni] Thoman is a social policy researcher, higher education professional, and freelancer. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Social Policy at Brandeis University while working as a Program Manager at Boston University. Emily’s research focuses on Asian American identity, linked fate, and [critical] intergroup solidarities. She was a Racial Equity Fellow at the Institute for Economic and Racial Equity in 2024 and a Research Fellow with the Rennie Center for Education Research Policy in 2021. Emily also freelances, specializing in project management, policy research & evaluation, and community operations // engagement. She has previously worked in local politics and the educational non-profit space.
Emily is an Asian Americanist and a transracial + transnational Chinese American adoptee.
